About
Jessica R. Botelho, Esq.
Meet jessica Botelho
Jessica founded Botelho Law to help individuals and families prepare for the expected and unexpected by providing personalized solutions to estate and long term care planning needs.
At Botelho Law, our goal is to make the planning process less scary. Talking about aging and death is not easy, but when you’re prepared with legal documents you understand, that were created specifically for your needs, you can face the future with confidence, knowing that you’re ready for whatever comes next.
BackGround
Jessica grew up in central New York watching her mother and grandmother care for their aging parents, with limited resources or guidance. In law school, she was immediately drawn to estate planning and elder law because she saw an opportunity to ease people’s minds during some of life’s most stressful, life-altering circumstances, such as a nursing home placement or the unexpected death of a loved one. She has focused my legal career exclusively on elder law, estate planning and estate settlement work and she continues to find joy in helping families through challenging times.
She lives in Queensbury with her husband, Ben, and their children, Julia and Jacob. Jessica’s family loves all that this beautiful area has to offer, from mountain biking and hiking to canoeing and backpacking. When she’s not outdoors, you can find her tackling a jigsaw puzzle, playing a board game, reading, or chasing her toddler around.

Core values
Easing minds.
Clients come to us when they are facing scary, life altering circumstances. They bring us their biggest fears and deepest secrets. We’re here to ease their minds through some of life’s most difficult experiences; to respond to their questions and concerns with empathy, patience, warmth, and understanding. It is our job to comfort them while providing honest, accurate legal guidance.
Flexibility in work and at work.
Systems are important and we utilize standard operating procedures, but we’re flexible. If we need to pivot from our standard process to better serve a client then that is what we will do. We strive to provide quality, efficient service and we understand that no two clients are the same and, therefore, our process for each client doesn’t have to be either.
Personal needs, family and friends are seriously important. We support each other as a team so that if one of us needs time with family, has a personal appointment, or just needs a day to themselves, the flexibility is there to achieve those needs without judgment or fear of falling behind.
Focused on the client.
We’re committed to providing quality services to our clients, in a way that suits their needs. Clients come first because without them, we have no purpose. We respond to clients’ needs quickly, we communicate effectively (listening, seeking to understand), and we care about the client experience.
We solve problems.
Often clients come to us thinking they need one thing and walk away with a totally different plan. That’s because we listen to the client, we understand unique legal issues, and we seek to provide only necessary legal solutions and guidance. It is not our job to sell legal products just for profit; it is our job to solve client’s problems and address their concerns efficiently, cost-effectively, and thoughtfully.
Internally, we never approach a team member with a problem or legal question that we haven’t already tried to solve or answer ourselves. We don’t waste each other’s time. We are critical thinkers and team players and we’re here to help each other so that we can help our clients.
